UNHCR to work with GRTR in the refugee settlements

A recent visit by the Head - UNHCR sub office, Arua, to GRTR offices in the camp yielded an agreement for GRTR to implement projects on behalf of UNHCR in Ofuza refugee settlement camp. He applauded GRTR for her outstanding performance in skilling the youth, women and men.

GRTR is a fast-growing local NGO offering livelihood support, skills training programs, among others to refugees in Ofua settlement camp. Over 1500 beneficiaries have received training in tailoring, hair-dressing, motorcycle repair and phone reapirs. Additionally, more than 150 women have received seed funding to start their businesses that are thriving.

With the skilling program, we envision a community of refugees who are productive; can supplement their donor aid by generating revenue from the skills learnt.
